Cards Borrow Dons Keeper

CONFERENCE PREMIER winning goalkeeper Seb Brown has joined on loan.

The 23-year-old stopper arrives from League Two club AFC Wimbledon, with whom he won promotion via the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs in 2011.

Brown, who saved two penalties during the Dons’ shoot out win over Luton Town on that occasion, was their first-choice keeper last season but is now behind Neil Sullivan in the pecking order.

He has been sent to Kingfield for an initial one-month period and feels he can implement some of the knowledge he has gained since club legend Sullivan’s arrival.

Speaking to the AFC Wimbledon website, Brown said: “It is a chance for me to put what I have been working on during training into practice during matches.

“I want to get back playing again as it has been a while since I was regularly in the first-team. It has been great to work with Neil Sullivan as he has played almost 600 league games with a lot of them in the top-flight.

“You cannot fail to learn from the way that he conducts himself, both on and off the pitch.

“The gaffer has always said that I am a young goalkeeper still and he is right as there are not many goalkeepers younger than I am who are currently playing in League 2.

“All I can do is strive to do better by going out and playing games and then hopefully be in the manager’s plans come the summer.”
