ANTHONY MALBON has signed a new long-term contract with Conference Premier title contenders Kidderminster Harriers.
The striker joined Harriers from Newcastle Town in January 2012 and got his career with them off to the perfect start, scoring 13 minutes after coming on as a substitute.
He went on to net another seven times before the end of last season and was rightly marked as one to watch in 2012/13.
It took him eight games to get off the mark this term and his patchy form saw him net just three more goals by the end of January.
However, he has since bagged 11 goals in 12 games and helped Harriers to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier, a point above second-placed Mansfield Town having played three games more than the Stags.
The former Port Vale and Leek Town man will now remain with the Harriers until the summer of 2015 and says he wasn’t contemplating leaving Aggborough at any stage.
Speaking to the club’s website about his new deal, he said: “I’m happy about it – there was never any doubt.
“I enjoy it here and I have got a lot to prove still and under the gaffer I’ve got to develop a lot more.”
