Chelmsford City Chairman Praises Pennyfather

chairman Mansell Wallace has paid tribute to departing manager Glenn Pennyfather.

The Clarets parted company with Pennyfather on Wednesday, bringing to an end his seven-year association with the Essex outfit.

During his first two seasons at the Melbourne Stadium he was assistant boss to Jeff King and the pair led the club to promotion from the Ryman Premier League.

Glenn PennyfatherWhile at the helm he led the Clarets to four top-five finishes in five seasons and memorable runs that saw them reach The FA Cup Third Round in both 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Speaking about his exit, chairman Mansell said: “Glenn has been a fantastic servant to our club and an extremely good man who has brought us a lot of joy over the years.

“It goes without saying that we wish Glenn every success for his future in the game and we thank him for everything he has done.

“We feel now is the right time for a change, and we’ll be advertising for a new manager to guide us forward.”
