EXPERIENCED Non-League marksman Michael Rankine has signed a one-year contract with Hereford United.
Rankine has spent the past two seasons with Hereford’s recently relegated Conference Premier rivals Aldershot Town, although he spent spells out on loan with Grimsby Town and York City during the 2012/13 campaign.
Prior to signing for the Shots, the 28-year-old made represented Barrow, Scunthorpe, Alfreton, Rushden & Diamonds (for whom he played over 100 times) and York.
While with York, Rankine played under current Hereford manager Martin Foyle and the Bulls boss is pleased to have been able to bring him to Edgar Street.
Speaking to the club’s website, Foyle said: “He did great for me at York, you know what you’re going to get from him.
“He’s got a lot of strength and a great work rate. If we can get him fit, get him jumping again then I am sure he will be a real asset for us.”
