THE Football Conference have released a statement confirming that Farnborough will not be allowed to play their first two games of the Skrill South season.
The statement, posted on the Conference’s website said: “After the agreement of a CVA and the subsequent sale of Farnborough Football & Social Club Limited (in Administration) the board of the Football Conference has recently been considering an application from the administrator of the company to transfer its membership to a new company, Boro FC Limited (newco).
“Unfortunately, Boro FC Limited (newco) was unable to meet the criteria required for such a transfer before the deadline issued for 3pm today.
“Farnborough FC’s fixtures at home to Chelmsford City on Saturday, August 17 and away to Havant & Waterlooville on Monday, August 19 will not go ahead as the membership of the new company has not been approved.
“In making this decision the board also recognises the disappointment this action will mean to those clubs involved and their supporters.
“The position will be considered again on Monday, August 19.”
