Boro’s Season Starts Saturday!

have finally been the go-ahead to get their season underway.

Boro were blocked from playing their first five games of the Skrill South campaign after the club failed to meet Conference deadlines regarding the transfer of its membership from Farnborough & Social Club Limited to Boro FC Limited.

The Conference have now accepted that the club are in compliance with The ‘s Standardised Rules and have met all 13 of the terms set at a Conference meeting on August 21.

As a result, Boro will be able to play their first competitive match of the 2013/14 campaign this weekend, when sixth-placed are the visitors to Cherrywood Road.

Commenting on the news on behalf of the board of directors, manager Spencer Day said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the last fortnight has resulted in approval of membership.

“We will provide fuller details over the next few days but at this stage I would like to thank Andrew Lloyd and his team and Rushmoor Borough Council, Dan Chapman of Leathes Prior and of course our sponsors Paddy Power for their support in achieving this outcome.

“We can now draw a line under this situation, knowing we are compliant and can now focus on the job in hand, and look forward to our season opener against Dover on Saturday.

“It has been a frustrating and unsettling time for our supporters and we thank you for your patience, now is the time for Boro supporters new and old to get behind the team as this new chapter begins.

“The business now has a great opportunity to work towards a sustainable future and together we can achieve this overriding objective.”
