Hurst Takes Sole Charge Of Grimsby

GRIMSBY TOWN have announced that Paul Hurst has taken sole charge of first-team affairs.

An extremely brief statement on the club’s website said: “Paul Hurst will take sole charge of team matters at this time.”

The statement offers no explanation as to what may have happened to Hurst’s joint-manager, Rob Scott.

It did however say that a further statement will be made in due course.

Hurst and Scott took over as joint-bosses of the Mariners in March 2011 having previously managed together at and .

They finished 11th in their first season in charge and repeated that finish in 2011/12.

Last term saw the Mariners challenge at the top of the table, eventually finishing fourth and losing out to eventual play-off winners Newport County over two legs in the semi-finals.

The Lincolnshire outfit also made it to the FA Trophy final before being beaten by on penalties.

They have made a mixed start to this season, winning three times, losing twice and drawing once.
