SKRILL NORTH side Harrogate Town have been deducted three points for fielding an ineligible player.
In what the club described as an “unfortunate clerical error”, Town breached rule 6.9 in their 2-1 opening day win at Oxford City when playing midfielder Adam Bolder who wasn’t registered.
Ashley Worsfold scored both goals to give Harrogate the three points, which have now been taken away after a Conference board meeting.
Town also confirmed that as a result of the deduction, the club secretary has resigned. With three chalked off their tally, Harrogate now have ten points from their opening nine games and sit 12th ahead of tonight’s three Skrill North games.
