DAVE BAYLISS has left his position as manager of Skrill North club Barrow by mutual consent.
Bayliss arrived at Holker Street as a player in November 2006.
Following the sacking of manager Phil Wilson in November 2007, Bayliss became part of a caretaker managerial team alongside Darren Sheridan and Paul Jones.
The trio got the Bluebirds back on track and Bayliss and Sheridan were handed the reins on a permanent basis, with Jones being named as club captain.
Bayliss and Sheridan experienced immediate success, leading the club to promotion from the Conference North via the play-offs in their first season in charge.
They narrowly managed to keep the club in the Conference Premier the following season and enjoyed a successful 2009/10, leading the Bluebirds to 15th in the table and FA Trophy glory at Wembley.
Bayliss took sole charge of the club in February 2012 when Sheridan left the club by mutual consent following allegations made to the club’s board.
Barrow finished 13th that year but they lost their Step 1 status earlier this year after finishing 22nd in the Conference Premier.
They have continued to struggle this term and currently find themselves 18th in the Skrill North, outside the relegation zone on goal difference alone.
That form has seen Bayliss leave the club after even years, with the club saying: “Unfortunately the start to the season has been difficult and with the club lying near the foot at the Skrill North table it was agreed by both parties that the situation had reached a point of no return.
“We would like to thank Dave for all the success he has brought the club over the past 7 years and wish him the very best for the future.
“The club have no further comment to make at this time, other than to say that the clubs priority now is to climb the Skrill North table and progress in the upcoming FA Trophy tie.”
