CARL MACAULEY has left his role as manager of Vauxhall Motors to become Steve Burr‘s assistant at Skrill Premier Chester.
The Motormen announced last week that they would be dropping down to the West Cheshire League, Step 7 of Non-League football, due to increasing costs.
Macauley said he would stay as Motors boss until the end of the season if no offers were on the table. However, the Blues came in for the well respected boss and he has now joined Burr’s staff.
Motors chairman Alan Bartlam said: “In my opinion, we have had the benefit of one of Non-League football’s greatest managers at this club.
“Carl has done an unbelievable job on a shoestring budget. We will all be disappointed to see him go, but thoroughly understand his position and wish him every success in the future. He will always be close to our hearts.”
Macauley’s assistants Anthony Wright and Gary Martindale will take charge of Motors until the end of the Skrill North season.
