HENDON are hopeful they will kick off next season in their new Silver Jubilee Park home after signing a ten-year lease.
The Greens, who were beaten in the Ryman Premier play-off final last season, will play at Harrow Borough‘s Earlsmead Stadium again next term.
But they will be hoping to have a home of their own for the opening day of the 2016-17 season following the confirmation of a ten-year, rent free lease.
Fans attending last week’s AGM were told the deal could save the club a whopping £25,000 in operating costs.
A Hendon spokesman said: “Whilst there is a lot of work to be done at the Silver Jubilee Pak to ensure the Greens can play there, hopes are high that the work can be done to ensure that we can start the 2016-17 season at our new home.”
Meanwhile, long-serving Greens boss Gary McCann’s testimonial is tomorrow night (Tuesday) at the Earlsmead with a 7.30pm kick-off.
Hendon will take on a Queen Park Rangers XI and entry is on a pay-what-you-like basis with all proceeds going to McCann.
