Boss Tony Beckingham swaps East Grinstead for Hythe Town

are searching for a new boss after the shock departure of Tony Beckingham to Ryman South rivals .

Beckingham took charge of the Wasps last November and the club finished 22nd in their first season at Step 4. They did, however, receive a reprieve.

They are currently third bottom with just one win from nine and are now looking for a new manager after Beckingham decided to join Hythe as joint-boss alongside Clive Cook.

Captain Jon Difford has been named interim manager and chairman Richard Tramontin said: “Tony has decided to take up an offer from Hythe. We are all disappointed with his decision but we wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts at East Grinstead during his two spells in charge.

“I’m delighted that Jon has agreed to take on managerial responsibilities whilst carrying on playing and allowing us the time to ensure we appoint the right candidate to take the club forward.”
