LEAGUE ONE side Burton Albion have won the race for ‘s highly-rated midfielder Nathan Ferguson.

The 20-year-old has caught the eye of many League clubs this season with his performances for Grays in the Ryman Premier.

The former youngster has been snapped up by the League One high-flyers after a week’s trial, signing a two-and-a-half year deal.

Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could be on the verge of a move to Queens Park Rangers but Ferguson thinks Burton are the best choice to further his career.

The box-to-box midfielder told the Burton website: “I came in for a week to train and I really liked the atmosphere and all the lads made me feel very welcome. I was very keen to come here and work with the squad at Burton.

“It’s a great place to train (St George’s Park) and having those kind of facilities is another bonus. I had never seen St George’s Park before I came here and I was really happy with that.”
