Peacehaven & Telscombe hope to use trial day to boost squad

SIMON COLBRAN is hoping to boost his squad by holding a trial game at the club’s Sports Park on January 5.

The Magpies had to cut their playing budget by half earlier this month but Colbran decided to stick by the club and is now looking for reinforcements.

Peacehaven have slipped into the Ryman South relegation zone in recent weeks but they are only two points from safety ahead of Saturday’s visit of mid-table .

Colbran is hoping for an upturn in the Magpies’ fortunes in 2016 and will be hoping to add some quality to his side from the trial game.

The former , , and boss said: “I know there are many players out there who have played at a higher level and who for a variety of reasons are currently without a club. We’d love to hear from them. This is also a great opportunity for all players to put themselves in the shop window.”

A Magpies statement added: “If you’ve been out of for a while or fancy your chances of playing Ryman League football, then look no further.

“It could be you are an unsigned player who has been out of the game for a while and your New Year resolution is to get playing again, or a player who excels in the lower leagues and wants to test themselves at a higher level.

“Whatever your reason, the Magpies are looking for more players to help them in their determined bid to climb the Ryman South table.”
