STRUGGLING Ryman South side Peacehaven & Telscombe are on the lookout for a new chairman as the club also search for new investors.
Sue Norwood has served as acting chairman since the passing of Brian Suckling in January but says she will step down at the end of the season.
The Magpies have struggled on the pitch as well as off it this term. They are second bottom of the Ryman South and are six points adrift of safety.
The playing budget was cut due to “historical debt” but the East Sussex side will fight on and search for new faces with Norwood remaining on the club’s committee.
She said: “All of us at Peacehaven & Telscombe FC are working tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver Ryman South football next season.
“It’s not a secret that historical debt has caught up with us this season and we are now paying the price.
“The impact has been felt throughout the whole club forcing us to take drastic action by reducing the playing budget and cutting back on all expenses. We are also working very hard trying to bring in new investment and investors into the club who will do what’s best for the club’s long term future.
“At the end of this season I will be standing down as acting chairman due to my personal work commitments but I still want to remain an active committee member of this club. Currently we are searching for a suitable person to become chairperson of our brilliant football club.
“It hasn’t been an easy time for the on-field management team either and I want to go on record to thank Simon Colbran and his staff for their continued effort, which we all support.
“Last but most definitely not least I want to thank our fantastic and dedicated fans for supporting the club on and off the field during this tough period for the Magpies.
“I believe our fans are a unique bunch and by following the team week in and week out in the way they do and caring as much as I and my fellow committee members do about this football club, gives me great strength.”
