THURROCK are set to pick up three points following the abandonment of Sunday’s Ryman League Premier Division game with Wingate & Finchley.
The match was abandoned after 82 minutes when Scott Schulton became the fifth Wingate player of the afternoon to be sent off.
Ahmet Rifat, Osa Obamwonyi, Ronanye Marsh-Brown, Jon Christian had already received their marching orders in what was the final game of the League’s anti-discrimination weekend.
Thurrock were leading 1-0 at the time of the fifth red card, which resulted in automatic abandonment of the fixture, and the League’s Emergency Committee have now ruled the result will stand.
Wingate are entitled to appeal the decision and the points for the fixture will not be awarded until the appeal period has expired.
