Watson named as Spitfires assistant manager

side have named Kevin Watson as their assistant manager on a two-year deal.

The Spitfires announced former Tranmere, Rotherham and Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore as their manager on Friday and have now moved quickly to appoint his assistant.

Watson, 42, has a wealth of footballing experience, with a career spanning over two decades and 400 senior appearances, 109 of which were at Rotherham when Moore was in charge.

As well as his long career playing the game, Watson has experience in coaching. A role as first-team coach at Luton in 209 was followed up as recently as last season, when he was Teddy ‘s assistant manager at Stevenage.

Watson will now link up with Moore and the rest of the squad ahead of the Hampshire side’s match at home to on Saturday.
