Chelmsford City have handed deals to trialists Jonny Giles and Jake Jessup after impressing during pre-season.
Giles moves to the Essex side after a spell on loan with Aldershot Town last season before being released by parent club Oxford United earlier this summer.
The 23-year-old make nine substitute appearances for the Shots in their late charge into the play-off places and impressed Clarets boss Rod Stringer with his attacking intent.
“Jonny has a lot of quality top-end,” Stringer told the club’s official website.
“I think he’ll be a good player for us and it gives us a lot of competitions. It makes us a bit more of a threat out wide.
“I’m sure he’ll be a good addition for us but, like every other player, he has to prove himself to get that shirt.”
Following Giles in signing a deal at the Melbourne Community Stadium is goalkeeper Jake Jessup.
A former trainee at Norwich City, Jessup gained pre-season game time for the National League South outfit in their victories over Thurrock and Bishop’s Stortford.
City open their season at home to Gloucester City on Saturday after their switch south of the Watford gap, having finished 10th in the National League North last season.
