National League side Leyton Orient have completed the signing of Brentford B midfielder Zain Westbrooke on a three-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old, who is most comfortable in central areas, is the captain of the Bees’ youth side, and has Championship experience having made his debut for the London club in their derby against Fulham earlier this year.
The youngster also has non-league experience, having spent a month at Solihull Moors earlier in the season, but a sending off in his second game for Moors curtailed his spell in the Midlands.
The hierarchy at Griffin Park have high hopes for the Westbrooke, and Rob Rowan, Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, told the club’s website said: “I’m really happy for Zain that he’s got another opportunity to impress on loan.
“He’s worked hard over the last 14 months and has impressed the staff with his application and ability. Now he needs to impress the staff and fans of Leyton Orient.
“I look forward to watching him over the next three months with our scouting department and tracking his progress in some important fixtures for Leyton Orient.”
Westbrooke could make his Orient debut on Saturday, as the O’s travel to Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup.
