Kettering Town can go within one point of Evo-Stik Southern Premier leaders Slough Town with a win at Bishop’s Stortford tonight.
The Poppies are currently fourth, but their good start to the season was derailed with an FA Trophy defeat Leek Town on Saturday.
In contrast, Bishop’s Stortford sealed a comfortable 4-0 win over Hanwell Town in the Trophy at the weekend, and will be hoping to claim their third home win of the season this evening.
Level on points with Kettering are Hereford, and the Bulls will be hoping to close the gap at the top when they host struggling Dunstable Town this evening.
Peter Beadle’s men are fresh from Saturday’s mauling 4-1 mauling of Weymouth, and will be hoping to continue their good form by sealing their ninth win of the season.
Dunstable, meanwhile, are languishing 23rd – just five points clear of rock-bottom Gosport Borough.
Evo-Stik East
In the Evo-Stik League East, Cambridge City can make up some ground on runaway leaders Moneyfields when they travel to Hayes & Yeading this evening.
Cambridge have only lost twice all term, but find themselves seven-points behind unbeaten Moneyfields, so making the most of their game in hand is important for Robbie Nightingale’s men.
Nevertheless, Hayes have their own promotion aspirations, and unbeaten at home so far this season. A win could take them up to seventh, just two points behind AFC Dunstable.
Evo-Stik West
There are three games in the Evo-Stik League West tonight, with Bideford hoping to hunt down leaders Taunton Town when they travel to Mangotsfield United.
The Mango’s are really struggling at the wrong end of the division, but both their wins this season have come at home. If Sean Joyce’s men want to go joint third, they’re going to have to be at their best.
Swindon Supermarine can also ignite their promotion dreams tonight, when they host Larkhall Athletic.
The Marine are currently seventh, but a win could take them fourth and within touching distance of Taunton. Larkhall, meanwhile, are a lowly 17th, but a win would take them into 13th.
Like the Larks, Barnstaple are struggling, and just six-points clear of the bottom in 20th place, so a win at home to Kidlington tonight could be huge.
