Wealdstone boss Bobby Wilkinson has moved to add goals to his core of strikers by bringing in Aldershot Town ace Shaun Okojie on loan.
The 22-year-old moves to Grosvenor Vale on a 28-day loan and arrives with considerable pedigree after his goal-scoring antics with Corinthian Casuals last season sealed a move to the Shots in the summer.
40 goals in 39 matches last season would build on growing expectations of the forward after he scored 17 times in 20 matches during 2015-16, alluring interest from league clubs Blackpool and Chesterfield who took Okojie on trial.
Making nine appearances so far for Gary Waddock’s side, Okojie joins a Stones side currently on a seven-match unbeaten run in the National League South; winning four out of five matches in October.
Wealdstone’s good form has seen them shoot up to 11th in the league standings and just seven points off leaders Dartford, Wilkinson senses an opportunity to stage a push for promotion having scored 22 goals in 16 matches.
Okojie is in contention to feature for the Stones on Saturday in time for Wilkinson’s first game against his former club Hungerford Town since leaving the Crusaders back in August.
