Boreham Wood have been successful with their appeal of Keiran Murtagh’s red card which occurred during their National League fixture with Sutton United.
The influential midfielder was sent off in first-half injury time after being adjudged to have brought down Craig Eastmond in the box, who was through on goal.
Jamie Collins had already opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd minute and Nicky Bailey made no mistake in capitalising from the penalty spot before the break.
Eastmond netted a brace in the second half to send Sutton back to winning ways and end Boreham’s 12-game unbeaten run.
After submitting video evidence to the FA, a panel agreed to rescind Murtagh’s red card meaning he avoids a three-game ban and will be eligible for the visit of Torquay United tomorrow.
