Former Gateshead manager Neil Aspin has delved back into Non-League to sign promising Redditch United striker Dior Angus from the Evo-Stik South.
The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season scoring 17 goals in 25 appearances, enough to earn an 18-month contract at League Two side Port Vale.
Dior joined the Reds last season from Stratford Town after having spells at Kidderminster Harriers and Solihull Moors.
Redditch boss Tim Harris, said: “I have hardly had time to get to know Dior before he has moved on to take up a fantastic opportunity at Port Vale. He has impressed me immensely with his attitude and shown me just how much desire he has to succeed.
“From a personal point of view, it’s always disappointing to lose your top goal-scorer let alone within a week of joining a new club.
“I would always encourage players to progress if the opportunity arises as others will automatically see a pathway then want to be part of what you are trying to build. I am sure like everyone from Redditch United sincerely wish Dior all the very best at Port Vale.”
.Angus becomes Aspin’s first signing of the January transfer window with Vale sitting 18th, 11 points clear of the relegation zone.
