Hampton & Richmond Borough could have a new goalkeeper between the posts for the coming weekend’s home match against Whitehawk after Will Henry joined on loan until the end of the season.
The Swindon Town stopper, 19, has made ten senior appearances for the Robins since making his debut two years ago and has since enjoyed loans at Hellenic League side Shrivenham and more recently at Evo-Stik Southern Premier Dunstable Town.
Defeat to Bath City through the goals of Frankie Artus and Jack Compton ended the Beavers 21-match unbeaten run on Saturday and manager Alan Dowson has wasted no time in making the move official.
A club statement announced: “The club are delighted to announce the signing of 19 year-old Swindon Town goalkeeper Will Henry on loan until the end of the season.
“He made headlines on his debut for the Wiltshire club, saving a penalty at Rochdale and is highly thought of, being invited to an England Elite Goalkeepers training camp more than once.
At opposite ends of the table, second-place Hampton welcome bottom of the table Whitehawk in the National League South this weekend. Yet the Hawks are showing promotion form by winning three of their last five, including a 5-1 thrashing over Weston-super-Mare at the weekend.
