Jermaine Pennant has left Bostik Premier leaders Billericay Town after just six months at the club.
The former Liverpool and Arsenal winger hadn’t played for Ricay since their Velocity Trophy victory against Wingate & Finchley on January 16.
Pennant left the club in December after struggling to get into the team with owner Glenn Tamplin unable to justify the 34-year-old’s wages, but the ex-Premier League star quickly rejoined, accepting a pay cut.
He is the second big name to leave the club after Paul Konchesky left in November to focus on “other commitments”.
Meanwhile, Billericay have signed former Gillingham and Swindon midfielder Luke Rooney.
