Neil Young has returned to Chester to support manager Marcus Bignot as the club battles to stay in the National League.
The former Blues boss won three successive promotions following their reformation in 2010 and will now hope to turn their fortunes around.
Bignot has brought back the popular 43-year-old on a short term, voluntary basis to assist him with the first team.
Since being sacked in 2014 during Chester’s first season in the National League, Young has been manager of Stockport County and Altrincham, and most recently caretaker manager at FC Halifax Town.
Chester host promotion hopefuls Aldershot Town on Saturday.
