Tranmere Rovers announced today that they had sold-out their entire away allocation for Saturday’s eagerly anticipated local derby against 23rd place Chester FC.
Rovers have announced that their allocation will spread across two stands of the Swansway Chester Stand and Centurian Community Stand.
Micky Mellon’s Tranmere Rovers side are currently nestled just inside the National League play-off positions on 67 points, four points above eighth placed Dover Athletic.
Rovers have had no problem finding the net this season and are the league’s second highest goalscorers having scored 65 times this campaign.
Speaking to Tranmere’s official club website, Mellon explained how the strong away following on Saturday could prove to be crucial. The former Shrewsbury boss said, “The fans have been fantastic and we’re looking forward to playing in front of this superb support on Saturday afternoon in what is another important game for us.”
Tranmere will come up against a Chester side who have had their relegation all but confirmed following three straight defeats.
The Blues have had a torrid time both on and off the field this season and fell to their 22nd defeat of the campaign on Easter Monday as they were narrowly beaten by table toppers Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose.
