Dorchester Town to play on 3G surface next season

Evo Stik Southern Premier side have announced that they will play on a 3G surface from next season.
The surface is due to be installed at the club’s Avenue Stadium by mid-July in order to be ready for the start of club’s next campaign.
A statement on the club’s official website read, “This project would not have been possible without the support of Dorchester Town Youth FC, Dorchester Town Council, West Dorset District Council, Dorset County Council, The Duchy of Cornwall and all those from the community who donated £50 for a square on the Pitch for the Community fundraiser.
We see the future of the Avenue Stadium as a hub for in the area, it will become a home for the Dorchester Town Youth teams, somewhere for them to train and play matches in a safe, secure environment, allowing them to grow in numbers.
The club is in talks with a twice weekly six-a-side league open to all adults, there will be holiday schools over the summer (and all future school holidays), birthday parties at the Avenue, a youth tournament for DTYFC players, a six-a-side preseason tournament for local adult teams and a staff vs supporter fundraising match.”
The Magpies are currently sitting in 20th position in the Evo Stik Southern table. They face 19th place Bishops Stortford at the Avenue Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
