Dominic Smith pens new AFC Telford deal

National League North club AFC Telford have announced that defender Dominic Smith has agreed to stay with the club for next season.
Smith joined the Bucks towards the end of last season and played an important role in their run towards safety from the drop zone.
After coming through the youth ranks at his boyhood club Shrewsbury Town, Smith went on to represent the likes of and before arriving at New Bucks Head in March.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Telford boss Gavin Cowan said, “Dom’s performances towards the back end of the last campaign meant that he deserved the offer of a new deal and he’s someone I would call reliable.
He’s a bit of an ‘old school’ defender in that he’s aggressive and goes beyond in order not to concede goals.
Dom’s another good character who we will need in order to be successful this coming season and I’m happy he’s committed to what we are trying to do!”
Telford ended up in 14th position in the North table, seven points above the drop zone.
