Gainsborough have pulled off a major coup by signing defender Neil Austin.
The veteran defender arrives at Northolme with a wealth of footballing experience, having racked up over 200 Football League appearances, whilst representing the likes of Darlington and Hartlepool United.
Austin also briefly featured in the Premier League for Barnsley.
The defensive player, who can fit in anywhere across the back line, joins Trinity having left the now defunct Shaw Lane.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Gainsborough boss Lee Sinnott expressed his delight at the signing of Austin.
Sinnott said, “Observing Neil in training and the way he conducts himself is second to none.
The attitude he displays is exactly what we are looking for & the influence he has had and will have on the other members of the team is first class.”
