Aldershot Town have signed midfielder John Goddard on a six-month deal from League Two side Stevenage.
Shots boss Gary Waddock has been targeting reinforcements during an injury-hit season and has snapped up the former Swindon man following his return from a short-term loan at Bromley.
Meanwhile, Aldershot assistant manager James Rowe has been let go by the club in order to “restructure for the future and reduce costs”.
Goddard excelled at Woking in the 2015-16 National League season where he scored 14 times in 41 appearances, including two against Aldershot in the Cards Boxing Day and New Year’s Day victories.
His impressive performances earned him a move to League One side Swindon Town where he stayed until the start of 2018 before signing for Stevenage.
Under Dino Maamria, the 25-year-old has struggled for first team opportunities with Boro and now has an opportunity to have a fresh start.
