Basildon United have parted company with manager Neil Blackburn by mutual consent and are now looking for their FOURTH boss of the season.
Blackburn joined the club from Laindon Orient in December, but after a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of AFC Sudbury, the Bees have made a change.
Basildon started well in Bostik North under Marc Harrison, having won promotion from the Essex Senior League.
However, their form took a turn for the worse and when Harrison departed, duo Lee Connor and Michael Walther couldn’t halt the slide.
Blackburn was in charge for twelve matches, winning two and drawing one, leaving the club 14th, 12 points above the drop.
Blackburn said: “I would like to thank everyone at Basildon United but we have decided to part company with the club this evening, I must stress this was by mutual consent. The fans have been great and I wish you all the very best, you’re a great bunch. I wish Basildon all the best for the future.”
