Bostik South East side Whitstable Town have looked to add some title winning experience to their squad ahead of the new campaign by confirming the signing of Cray Wanderers defender Marcus Evans.
Evans spent much of last season on the bench as Wands romped to the South East Division title, making only ten appearances- the last one in victory over Hythe Town last month.
He also started in a comfortable 2-0 victory over his new club back in August as the Wanderers laid the seeds for a promotion push last season.
Whitstable manager Lloyd Blackman, speaking to the club website, had this to say:”I’ve been following the career of Marcus for the last 18 months and once I spoke to him it was clear we both had identical intentions.
“He’s a cultured central defender at a fantastic age, whose drive to improve is second to none.”
The Oysterboys enjoyed a decent season at Step 4 level last season, finishing in 12th position in the Bostik South East division under the management of Blackman.
Meanwhile, Cray Wanderers romped to promotion to Step 3, finishing 39 points ahead of Whitstable, scoring an incredible 79 goals in the process and conceding on just 35 occasions,
