Gosport Borough have made a big signing ahead of the Southern Premier South campaign by making a move to re-sign former player Rory Williams.
Williams played for the Boro’ before going on to join Havant & Waterlooville in 2016, where he went on to play an important part in the South Coast club’s promotion to the National League a year.
The 29-year-old wore the captain’s armband for Havant last season as the Hawks battled bravely but ultimately unsuccessfully against relegation from Step 1.
It had been expected that Williams would be staying at the club after putting pen to paper on a new one year deal, however it appears as though the winger found out that he was not part of new manager Paul Doswell’s plans for the new campaign.
Williams now joins up with a Gosport Borough side who finished in 19th place at Step 3 level last season.
