FA set new date for abandoned FA Cup clash at Haringey Borough

The Association have ordered and to play their abandoned tie next Tuesday night.
The new November 5 date for the fourth qualifying round tie that was abandoned on Saturday amid accusations of racial abuse was confirmed by the governing body in a statement at 4pm.
Both clubs will be in the hat for Monday night’s draw for the first round proper which is being broadcast live on BBC 2 from 7.10pm.
The Bonfire night meeting was scheduled as the FA’s investigation into the allegations of racist abuse continue and after two men were arrested in Somerset on Monday on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault.
An FA spokesperson said: “Following the abandonment of the fourth round qualifying fixture between Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town, the FA Challenge Cup Committee has made the decision for the original fixture to be replayed on Tuesday 29 October at Haringey Borough FC.
“In the event that a replay is required this shall be played on Tuesday 5 November. Following the incident in the original tie and the two arrests already made, The FA’s investigation is ongoing. We are continuing to work with the relevant authorities on our investigation into the matter.”

Unity

Saturday’s tie in North London was officially abandoned just over half an hour after the hosts walked off after their players were reported to have been subjected to racist abuse and objects were thrown on to the pitch.
In a show of unity, they were followed by Darren Sarll and his Glovers who’d taken a 1-0 on 64 minutes as the incident that led to abandonment unfolded.
The FA have been investigating as a “matter of urgency” since the story broke at the weekend and started making unwanted headlines around the world, from the front of Sunday’s  in the UK to The Sydney Morning Herald in Australia.
