The Football Association has been asked to investigate claims by Hayes and Yeading United that striker Elliott Buchanan was racially abused during Saturday’s 4-3 FA Trophy thriller at Salisbury.
Hayes & Yeading released a statement on Sunday condemning the incident during the third qualifying round defeat at their BetVictor Southern League rivals.
Buchann was allegedly abused while receiving treatment on the touchline at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium .
The latest allegations of racism follow a number at Non-League fixtures this season where players, officials or fans have reported abuse.
The most high profile incident in October saw Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town players walk off during their FA Cup clash in north London before the fourth qualifying round clash was abandoned.
Dorchester Town boss Callum Brooks told the readers of The Non-League Paper only two weeks ago that football must break the “cultural” issue of racism following further allegations during his side’s meeting with Harrow Borough.

Posted on Twitter and the club’s website, the statement read: “Towards the end of the enthralling FA Trophy match between Salisbury and Hayes & Yeading United, the directors, committee and bench of Hayes & Yeading United were disgusted to hear racist abuse directed at United striker Elliott Buchanan, who was receiving treatment on the pitch at the time.
“There is absolutely no place anywhere for abuse of this nature, and anyone of our supporters’ at the match would have evidenced the reaction of the directors area and our bench at the time.
“After discussions by the match officials with both managers at the time, and the players, all agreed to complete the game.
“A full report of the incident has been made by the match referee, as well as managers, players and officials of both clubs.
“The Football Association have also been contacted and will be making their own full investigation – which will be fully supported by Hayes & Yeading United FC.
“Salisbury FC are also investigating the matter, and will no doubt make a statement of their own in due course. We are aware that they have access to full CCTV and ‘Body Cam’ on their stewards.
“No further comment will be made at this time until the investigations by the relevant authorities have been completed.”
The draw for the FA Trophy’s first round proper will be broadcast live on TalkSPORT at lunchtime on Monday.
