First team manager Pete Wild told the National League’s website: “Matt has shown good quality in the games I have watched him, holding the ball up, bringing others into play and scoring goals.
“This has been rewarded with game time with the first team. We hope this helps with his development and encourages others to make the same steps.”
Youth team coach Mike Jeffries, the club’s Youth Team coach, has been equally as impressed with the Shaymen starlet.
“He has been a good character on and off the pitch,” he said. “His performances have been good and are improving. In addition to this, he has scored consistently over the past month, his performances also caught the eye of the first team.”
He added: “In the classroom his approach has been good and consistent which is crucial for any young player.”
