IN THE days after his departure from Eastleigh, Ben Strevens had some messages from some of the most experienced gaffers in the game.
“Gary Waddock phoned me –I was obviously with him at Wycombe and he’s a good guy – and I had a message from John Still and they pretty much said the same: If you’re going to be in this game, unfortunately, it’s part and parcel of it – you’re a proper manager now so just wait for your next opportunity,” Strevens recalls.
