A MANAGER and opposition player hit by hefty bans and police investigations have insisted neither of them had wanted to see the other punished over the incident.
Northwich Victoria manager Steve Wilkes received a seven-match stadium ban, a £75 fine and was ordered to complete an online education course having admitted to making a homophobic slur towards Longridge Town’s Connor Jackson during a North West Counties League Premier Division match on February 2.
