SENIOR Non-League football has always traditionally been a winter sport. And quite rightly too.
But is there now an argument for football below the six tiers of the National League System to be played during the summer months?
Of course, there has been a very recent precedent.
This time last year, several grassroots leagues played right through May and June to catch up and complete their fixtures after the horrible interruption of Covid lockdowns.
Social media critics said it just wouldn’t be possible due to a lack of players and pitches at that time of the year...
