Bury merger moves closer

Shakers Community Society chairman Phil Young believes a merger is the right option if Bury are to become a football force again.
Once cash-strapped Bury FC were expelled from the Football League in August 2019, devastated supporters quickly rallied round to form Bury AFC, which is owned by the Shakers Community Society, at the end of that year.
Last term, the Shakers, who groundshare at Radcliffe FC, won North West Counties Division One North and they are set to play Step 5 football this term.
