FORMER Premier League striker and Jamaica international Barry Hayles has returned to Windsor as part of their new management team – and may return to playing at the age of 50!
Hayles made over 150 appearances for Fulham but also turned out for the likes of Fulham, Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Millwall in the Football League.
He then dropped back into Non-League and proved just as reliable for the likes of Chesham United, St Albans City and Truro City.
In his early days at Stevenage, Hayles had twice turned out for the England C squad.
A two-year spell at Windsor from 2017-19 yielded 18 goals in 59 appearances, helping the Royalists to their best ever FA Vase performances, the quarter finals in 2017-18 and fifth round the following year.
Most recently, Hayles has been assistant manager at Isthmian League side Merstham but has now agreed to come back as part of manager Mick Woodham’s management team for the coming sea- son in the Combined Counties Division North.
A club statement said: “YES! The man, the legend, Sir Barrington of Hayles is back!
“Negotiations are still on going as to whether he will pull a kit on again!”
