ON THE ROAD: Winchester City go to Wales midweek

FIXTURE announcement day is a day looked forward to by everyone, especially when their team has been promoted.
However, it baffles me that Winchester City’s trip to Merthyr Town is on a Tuesday night.
Surely someone must have realised that, with the players having work the next morning, and after the Keynsham/Mousehole debacle the previous season, having the most westerly and second most easterly sides play each other in midweek didn’t make sense?
