FA Cup ties against Football League clubs are becoming the norm for Gateshead and Mike Williamson.
Tuesday night’s hardearned 2-1 home win against National League rivals Altrincham ensured the Tynesiders have progressed into the first round of the competition for the third time in four seasons.
Their prize is a home tie against League Two title contenders Stevenage, who will provide a stern challenge for Williamson and his squad when they travel to the north east on the first weekend of November.
