ALVECHURCH chairman Richard Thorndike hopes the FA Cup’s history of redefining futures can keep repeating itself.
The little Worcestershire village with the big heart is taking an army of supporters to League One Cheltenham Town for Saturday’s first round tie – Church’s first appearance in the competition proper since 1974.
But while it is one of the biggest days in the club’s illustrious history, something far greater remains at stake.
Church owns a fifth of its ramshackle Lye Meadow headquarters and leases the rest of the site.
