United sharing plan is council protest

HASTINGS United have announced plans to groundshare with Eastbourne Borough in protest over their local council’s refusal to support a new ground to replace Pilot Field.
Planning permission was initially granted for the new development at Tilekiln Playing Fields, but the authority later withdrew their commitment to sell the land to the club.
Isthmian League United say it is not financially viable to remain at Pilot Field, mainly due to the costs of maintaining the cavernous wooden stand.
