BILLY Priestley has stepped down as Clitheroe manager – but will stay on as a player!
Priestley took the Blues to their joint highest finish last season in NPL West and the third qualifying round of the FA Cup for only the second time in the club’s history.
They currently lie just off the play-off places this time around but Priestley has still decided to step down as boss.
His assistant, the former Widnes boss David Dempsey, will take over in the dugout until the end of the season – with his predecessor in his playing squad.
