CAPTAIN Shane Byrne couldn’t hide his emotions after Kidderminster clinched promotion at the expense of his former club.
The Dubliner admitted he shed a tear or two after leading the Harriers to victory against a team for whom he played more than 200 games, including an FA Trophy victory at Wembley.
“When Brackley beat Chester in the semi-final it was a bittersweet moment for me because I have a lot of good friends at the club and have some really good memories. I knew the final would be tough,” Byrne said.
