EMILE Smith Rowe wasn’t the only member of Lee Carsley’s triumphant England Under-21 squad to ply their trade in Non-League.
In a similar story to that of the Arsenal front man, midfielder Tommy Doyle spent four years at North West Counties League club Sandbach United, from the age of four, before joining Manchester City.
Doyle, 21, made one first-team appearance for City before loan spells at Hamburg and Cardiff City saw him end up at Sheffield United, where he helped the Blades to promotion to the Premier League last season.
