Rebels chief looks towards a new era

GEORGE DOWELL insists it is ‘crazy’ that Worthing have never played in the National League and revealed the club plans to go full-time in a bid to reach Non-League’s top table within the next three to five years.
The Rebels owner took over the club 12 years ago with attendances, and the team itself, in decline.
After investing his own money to lay a 3G pitch and revamp the bar among other things at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium, Dowell hopes to oversee even more progress and put his beloved Worthing back on the map.
